A stranded motorist was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after the Greeneville Police Department stopped to help.
An officer on patrol stopped at the intersection of West Andrew Johnson Highway and West Summer Street around 3:30 PM to assist the stranded motorist. The man in the driver’s seat, William Blevins, had a Tennessee ID only and no driver’s license. He also said the vehicle had no insurance.
A search of the car produced baggies with meth residue, two tubes that appeared to have been used as a pipe, and a bong with drug residue.
Blevins was transported to the Greene County Detention Center on charges of driving on a revoked or suspended license 5th offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of the financial responsibility law.
