Nancy Lou Kelsoe, age 77, of Erwin, Tennessee, passed away August 15, 2026, at The Center on Aging in Erwin.
She was a retired hairdresser and was a foster parent for 15 years. She attended The Midst Church.
She enjoyed camping, yard sales, and being with her family.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family with her whole heart. Strong, independent, and full of spirit, Nancy was the kind of woman many affectionately called spunky, and she wore that description proudly. Her resilience and lively personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
Over the years, Nancy opened her home and her heart as a foster parent, changing the lives of many children. She gave them stability, care, and a sense of belonging, and those relationships remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She found great joy in the outdoors and spent many of her summers camping at Kinser Campground, where she made lasting memories and friendships. Early mornings often found her out yard-selling, always ready with a smile, a good deal, and a story to share.
Nancy will be deeply missed by her loving family and all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by three daughters: Christina Lindsay (Christopher) Price, Dawn Lindsay (Andy) Greene, and April Rowlette; grandchildren: Cortney (Ridgley) Becker, Jeremy (Nicole) Tipton, Craig (Jasmine) Tipton, Hunter Tipton, and Anthony Rowlette; great-grandchildren: Daniel Becker, Carver Becker, and Ezra Tipton.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Dennis Kelsoe.
There will be no formal services at this time.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
