Deputies responded to a home on the 1300 block of Carters Valley Road with a search warrant Tuesday on the report of narcotic violations. Two people were arrested for reportedly having drugs and firearms; the Department of Children Services also took a child into custody.
According to the report, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene before 5 PM and served the warrant. They made entry into the residence when Arlan Potter allegedly pointed his AR-15 rifle at three Special Response Team members, placing them in fear for their safety. Potter and another suspect in the home, Sheila Potter, were reportedly found to be in possession of Methamphetamine for sale/delivery. Baggies, scales, and cash were also found in their possession.
Deputies stated in the report that a five-year-old child in the home was placed in danger for exposure to Meth, Fentanyl, and loaded firearms. Both Potter’s were charged with sale of schedule II meth, drug paraphernalia, child endangerment, maintaining a dwelling for drugs, possession of firearms during
commission of dangerous felony, three counts of aggravated assault, and possession of two stolen firearms. The minor was taken into custody by DCS.
