A Midway man was arrested on Sunday for charges including aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and interfering with an emergency call.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office received a call from someone Sunday morning regarding a victim that was being held at a residence on the 100 block of Gravel Woods Road. The victim and suspect identified as Dakota Trentham were reportedly arguing. The victim tried to walk away to deescalate the situation and Trentham reportedly followed her and took away her keys and phone.
At one point he followed her down the road and grabbed her arm. When she yelled he put one hand over her mouth, his other hand around her throat, and allegedly dragged her back into the house where he beat her. He allegedly would hit her when she tried to fight back and would choke her until she could no longer breath.
Trentham also allegedly forced himself on the victim. The report said he pulled off her shorts and forced her to have intercourse with him while he continued to choke her. He gave the victim her phone back “for being good,” according to the victim. She was able to give her address to someone who then alerted deputies. They arrived on the scene and found the suspect and victim outside. Trentham was arrested and taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
