Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon at the Erwin Highway and Edens Road intersection.
The wreck occurred when a 2003 Honda Civic driven by a 17-year-old attempted to cross Erwin Highway. The juvenile’s vehicle drove into the path of a 2015 GMC Yokon, driven by 38-year-old Stephanie Hicks, which was traveling south on Erwin Highway. The two vehicles collided in the roadway in a “t-bone” style collision.
Hicks and a 12-year-old passenger in her vehicle were injured in the wreck, as was the 17-year-old driver.
According to the report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the juvenile driver was charged with failure to yield.
