U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn announced Tuesday she will be making a run for Governor in 2026.
She becomes the second Republican to announce their intentions to seek the job to replace Governor Bill Lee, whose final term in office expires next year.
John Rose, who was in Greeneville last week, announced he was running earlier this year.
Democrat Memphis City Councilwoman Jerri Green announced her decision to run for Tennessee Governor last month.
Tuesday was exactly one year to the day before the gubernatorial primaries. August 6th of next year is also the Greene County general election date. The Greene County primary election is May 5th.
