Following up on an early morning shoplifting at Walgreens on East Andrew Johnson Highway Greeneville shortly after one am Sunday, the local store contacted Greeneville Police and our news department today to correct details of the story initially reported to authorities.
Sunday morning an overnight employee identified as store manager, reported two women filled a basket with beauty products then left the store without paying.
Police were told the store would not prosecute, adding only that the women not be allowed to enter the store again if found by authorities.
However a store manager told Radio Greeneville News today the company DOES prosecute shoplifters. The local store had received several calls concerned about the originally filed report stating otherwise.
