Two people were taken into custody following a traffic stop shortly before 7:30 Tuesday evening.
A deputy with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department stopped a vehicle around the Ripley Island Road and Blackberry Lane intersection due to it driving left of center.
The driver consented to a search. A glass pipe was found inside a cup. A passenger, Candace Duncan of Jack Norton Road, reportedly had a baggie containing several pills inside one of her boots. She also admitted there was a dollar bill in her clothing that had something in it. Once she was taken into custody, she was found to have a crystal-like substance identified as methamphetamine that weighed 3.35 grams. She was charged with possession of meth, simple possession of a schedule 5 drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Mark Shuffler, was confirmed to have active warrants out of Washington County and was taken into custody.
The driver was issued a warning citation and left the scene.
