Another Electric Vehicle Charging Station will be added in Greene County with a location at the Baileyton TA Travel Center.
Dwayne Wells, Interim President and CEO of GEA said during the GEA meeting that currently they are waiting for the necessary equipment to arrive, which could take a couple months or more. Once the equipment is received the EV station could be complete in about three months.
The last EV Charging station that was recently completed was in May of this year and is located in the parking lot of Aubrey’s Restaurant.
Silicon Ranch and GEA moved forward with their contract for a solar site on Reed Road. After amending the agreement, the board approved the contract stating GEA will purchase $49 a megawatt hour over the next 35 years. The contract has a December 31st, 2024 completion date. Crews have already started on construction.
