Two people were arrested after a traffic stop Friday night on Mcneese Lane in Mosheim. One suspect was found to have around eight grams of Methamphetamine during a scan at the Greene County Workhouse.
According to the report, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol on Carters Valley Road when they spotted a driver who started acting suspicious once a deputy passed. The vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed and continued toward Lonesome Pine Trail, and then down Mcneese Lane. The driver, later confirmed to be Joshua Dean of Mosheim, pulled into a driveway and attempted to bail on foot but stopped once a deputy pulled in behind him.
Dean reportedly stated a man ran past him and he stopped at the driveway for an emergency. The landowner came out eventually and stated they did not know the individuals. As Dean was assisted to the patrol car he yelled out to a passenger, Lacy Gosnell of Greeneville. He told Gosnell to tell deputies he was not driving. He did later admit he was the driver of the vehicle.
Both allegedly had active warrants. Gosnell was found to have dab pens and wax in the car and Dean had paraphernalia on his person. Both were taken to the GC Workhouse for a scan. During a search a baggie was found on Dean that had a crystal like substance consistent with Meth and weighed approximately 8.57 grams. He was charged with Manufacture, Delivery, Sale or Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, and Suspended/Revoked.
