At around 5:30 Friday evening, police responded to a report of a person slumped over the driver’s seat of a vehicle at the Dollar General Market on West Summer Street.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle, a white jeep, and made contact with suspect Joyce Malone, who appeared to be awake and leaned over the passenger side.
Malone was reportedly lethargic and kept changing her story as to why she was in the parking lot.
Upon a search of her vehicle, police found three meth pipes in her purse, which she admitted to smoking earlier in the day, according to the report.
Additionally, Malone pulled a small baggie containing four pills out of her coat pocket during a search of her person. The pills were later discovered to be Xanax.
Malone failed all field sobriety tests and was arrested for possession of Schedule 4, drug paraphernalia, and Public Intoxication.
