Baileyton – On a night where North Greene celebrated their two seniors, the Huskies and Buffaloes had to wait out a lengthy delay due to rainy conditions before getting play started. Once play began, the Huskies pounded out 14 hits and scored 10 runs in the contest to improve to 4-2 on the season.
An explosive second inning proved to be a great start for North Greene, as they sent 13 batters to the plate and scored 8 runs. A triple from Heidi Harmon that drove in one run, and a 2-RBI double off the bat of Loren Blevins proved to be just what the offense ordered.
Matti Phillips led the offensive attack with three hits, a double and 2 singles, while Hailey Bailey, Abby Parker, Harmon, and Blevins each collected two.
Hannah Brooks picked up the win from the circle, limiting West Greene to a lone hit, a double in the second inning by Hailey Arnold, while striking out nine and walking one in five innings of work.
North Greene will play at Chuckey Doak on Tuesday, while West Greene hosts the Black Knights on Monday.
