Two Greeneville women were arrested after reportedly filing a false report to Police on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a home on Railroad Lane and spoke with two women Brittany Penley and Kirsten Gibson. The two claimed a man who was named in the report came to the home and began arguing with Penley. Both stated the man got in her face, pushed her, broke a glass dish, and left when 911 was called.
After further investigation the Greeneville Police Department spoke with the alleged suspect who claimed to be at work all day and only went out for lunch. According to the report, the man was able to provide proof via camera footage, which showed he was never at the residence, as well as a time stamp card from work.
Officers spoke with Penley and Gibson again and both reportedly continued with the same story. Due to evidence officers arrested both women for filing a false report and they were taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
