A woman is facing charges after allegedly failing to return a rented U-Haul truck, according to a report filed with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday.
The suspect reportedly rented the truck on December 27 from Beamer’s Floors N More on West Andrew Johnson Highway and was supposed to return it the following day. Afer failing to return the vehicle, the business sent a certified demand letter to the suspect on December 29. The letter was labeled as a refusal to sign. The suspect has claimed she will return the truck, valued at $35,000, but still has not brought it back.
An arrest warrant was issued for the suspect for rental vehicle joyriding.
