A Midway man was arrested and charged with evading arrest and reckless driving Sunday evening after deputies tried conducting a traffic stop.
The suspect, Anthony Lamons, was first seen driving on the left of the centerline on Hawk Hollow Road. A deputy turned on his emergency lights attempting to make a traffic stop but the vehicle sped off onto Whittenburg Road, according to the report. The deputy was unable to catch up.
The same vehicle was later seen driving down Poplar Spring Road. The deputy reactivated his lights and sirens when the vehicle allegedly took off again at a high rate of speed. After a pursuit began the suspect Lamons, turned onto Hawk Hollow Road before loosing control of the vehicle and eventually driving through an electric fence, into a muddy pasture. Lamons attempted to drive away with the vehicle but was stuck in the pasture. He was ordered by the deputy to exit and he complied.
Lamons was asked why he ran, he stated he freaked out and didn’t know what to do. He was charged and transported to the Greene County Detention Center.
