According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, a Wind Advisory will be in effect for the mountains of Southeast Greene County Thursday from 1:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
Winds of 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour are expected in the mountains and foothills.
A strong cold front is in the forecast with a few strong to severe storms possible starting Thursday afternoon. Rain total could be 1 to 1.5 inches across most of the county. Strong winds will be the primary threat with the chance of a few tornadoes.
Potential exists for repeated heavy rainfall that could lead to localized flooding through Friday.
