A Greeneville man reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday that he was contaced by someone claiming to have hacked his computer.
The Kenneytown Road man said he was contacted by an unknown person stating his computer had been hacked. The victim was instructed to send money or else his pictures and personal information would be released. The person also claimed to have the victim’s banking information.
The victim was still texting the suspect at the time of the report and was advised to stop communication with them. When asked how he was hacked, the victim said through a program on his computer called Paracord.
