A suspicious vehicle on the Andrew Johnson Highway was called in to police just after midnight Saturday morning.
The green SUV had left the reported parking lot, but officers observed the vehicle traveling west bound. Police issued a traffic stop for a brake light out at Tusculum Boulevard and Forest Hills Drive.
The driver was identified as Curtis Gray of Pruitt Road, who had a revoked license and the SUV showed it did not have insurance. A K9 unit was called to the scene, but the dog did not alert on the vehicle.
However, Gray and a passenger, Denise Frye of Colvert Road, both went back to the vehicle prior to towing. During the inventory of the vehicle for tow, a baggie containing a crystal-like substance was located on the passenger seat that reportedly had not been in there prior. A glass pipe was also discovered in the door, concealed by a notebook that Denise Frye admitted to placing there, but denied knowing the glass pipe was there.
While en route to the Greene County Detention Center, Gray allegedly told officers he had something that that Frye had given to him during the stop. Officers retrieved a green container from Gray, which contained two more baggies containing a crystal like substance and another glass pipe.
Both Gray and Frye were charged with schedule two drug violations, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and tampering with evidence. Gray was additionally charged with driving while license was revoked, financial responsibility law, and lights required on motor vehicles.
