Keep Greene Beautiful, in partnership with Broyles General Store & Emporium, is pleased to announce Debbie Knickerbocker of Erwin Highway as the recipient of the June 2026 Yard of the Month Award.
Debbie’s landscape stood out to judges for its timeless beauty, thoughtful design, and welcoming atmosphere. Surrounded by mature trees and carefully curated gardens, the property offers a peaceful retreat that showcases both horticultural creativity and dedicated maintenance.
During the judging process, several judges remarked that the landscape felt much like an English garden, with its abundance of plantings, layered textures, and inviting pathways. Others described the property as a calm oasis, noting that it is the kind of place where visitors would naturally want to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery.

The home’s stately architecture is complemented by vibrant seasonal flowers, lush greenery, decorative planters, and charming garden features that create visual interest throughout the property. Together, these elements contribute to a landscape that enhances the beauty of the community and serves as an inspiration to fellow gardeners.
Keep Greene Beautiful recognizes homeowners like Debbie Knickerbocker whose dedication to beautification helps make Greene County a more attractive and welcoming place to live, work, and visit.
Residents are encouraged to nominate outstanding residential landscapes for future Yard of the Month recognition. Nomination information and referral forms can be found on the Keep Greene Beautiful Facebook page or at www.greenecountypartnership.com/kgb.
