Police responded to a report of a Toyota 4Runner over an embankment Friday night.
At 11:15 PM officers found the gray 4Runner over the embankment at Heatherwood Loop and stuck in a ditch. The driver was attempting to back the vehicle from the ditch and officers asked the man, Seth Reaves of Pates Lane, to step out of the vehicle. According to the report, Reaves had slurred speech, the odor of alcohol coming from his person, and was unsteady on his feet.
Reaves performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody for driving under the influence. Reaves was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. Further investigation found open alcohol containers in the vehicle, a pistol, and a rifle. The 4Runner was also found to have switched license plates.
Reaves is also being charged with having a prohibited weapon, violation of the open container law, possession of firearms while intoxicated, and switched registration.
