The contractor for the apartment complex that was approved to be built at 62 Harlan Street has stated the construction crew is getting ready to start grading on the site.
The contractor spoke with the Town of Greeneville Planning Department this week. Planning Administrator Randy Davenport gave Radio Greeneville News an update and said equipment is getting transferred onto the site, brush on the property will be cleared soon, dirt will be moved, grading will begin, and the building pads will be put in place.
Davenport said he expects the grading work will continue into the end of the year. The contractor expects construction on the 72-unit apartment building will begin by the first of next year.
All the permits have been approved. The timeline for the project is still set for the end of 2025. Davenport said he’s already receiving calls regarding questions on when applications will be accepted for renting at the complex.
The site plan indicates three buildings three stories high, with associated parking, a community building, a picnic pavilion, a playground, one, two, or three-bedroom options, and handicapped-accessible units. There are no elevators. Hall Group, the developer, will have a sign set up in front of the development with contact information, once they are ready to receive applications.
