A woman was injured Friday afternoon when she was struck by a van along the side of the West Andrew Johnson Highway near the Greene County Health Department.
Just before 2:00 Friday, a 2007 Dodge Caravan minivan was stopped on the eastbound shoulder of the 11-E bypass. The driver of the van, identified as Adam Dixon, was pulling away when he struck the woman on the passenger side near the rear of the van.
The woman, identified as Lindsay Mills, sustained suspected major injuries and was taken by EMS to the hospital. There were four other occupants of the van along with Dixon at the time, but none were injured.
Inattentive driving was cited as a factor in the collision. No further details were provided by the Greeneville Police Department.
