A Greeneville woman reported a scam to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department after she recently attempted to buy a puppy.
The Old Mountain Road woman said she messaged the suspect regarding dachshund puppies for adoption. The victim reportedly sent Walmart gift cards via picture messages to the suspect in the amount of $260.
The suspect told the victim she would meet up at the Greeneville Police Department on March 20 with the puppy. The victim said the suspect has now stopped communicating with her and she believes she is being scammed.
