A 107 Cutoff woman reported Thursday she was scammed while attempting to buy a kitten.
The woman said she put a $275 deposit on a mane coon kitten she was to pick up the next day in Ohio. She was contacted by the suspect, who told the victim she needed another $75 for the kitten to be fixed. The victim refused to send any more money. The suspect then said the victim would not be receiving the kitten.
The victim asked for her deposit back since the paperwork she signed never stated it was non-refundable. The suspect refused to return the deposit and the victim then filed a report with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
