A Chuckey woman is out $10,000 after she paid a company for a construction job that was never completed.
The Roaming Drive woman reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday that she hired the company, which was named, in April 2023 to build a deck for her. She paid a $10,000 deposit and the check was cashed the same day.
The victim attempted to contact the company numerous times to see when the build would start. In August, the victim said she wanted a refund for the deposit. At that time, she was told her money would be refunded within 10 days.
The victim still has not received the refund and has hired an attorney, according to the report.
