An Afton woman reportedly lost money after attempting to purchase an appliance through Facebook.
The Ripley Island Road woman reported on Monday afternoon to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department that she was in contact with the suspect through Facebook about buying a refrigerator from him. She sent him $420 and the suspect then blocked her. The victim said she had no way of contacting him.
According to the incident report, the Facebook account was possibly fake.
