A woman was scammed out of $7,000 after attempting to apply for a grant on Facebook.
According to the report from the Greeneville Police Department, the woman contacted someone by the name of Justin Holland on Facebook about applying for a grant. The suspect gave the victim information on the ‘grant’ and stated payment was required from her, in order to process the application.
Pre-paid credit cards were purchased and given to the suspect in the amount of $7,000 throughout the span of a month as well as personal information.
