The Walmart Loss Prevention located on 3755 East Andrew Johnson Highway reported another suspect was stealing and held them in custody yesterday afternoon until the Greeneville Police Department arrived.
According to the report, officers arrived at Walmart and made contact with the suspect, Barbara Butcher of Greeneville, who was previously trespassed from the property for shoplifting. Butcher was caught yesterday about 12:30 PM concealing items in her purse totaling about $70 and was stopped at the front door. She was placed under arrest for being a repeat offender.
During a search 2 grams of a crystal like substance, baggies, cut straws and a prescription that was identified at Alprazolam, were found. Butcher was charged with multiple charges including unlawful drug paraphernalia, drug violation, theft under $1,000, and criminal trespassing.
