A woman was arrested on Ripley Island Road in Afton Wednesday for public intoxication after she was reportedly acting erratic.
The woman from Jonesborough was seen before midnight by officers wearing only a zip up sweater. She said she was running from a man who gave her drugs and was trying to kill her. Deputies stated the woman was speaking out of her head, was picking up rocks and random pieces of grass. The woman told officers she took meth.
She also reportedly took boots and a towel from a home on Ripley Island Road, but the homeowners did not want to prosecute. She was arrested and transported to the Greene County Detention Center. No further information was provided on the alleged man she was running from.
