9 AM Update: WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS CANCELLED
6 AM Update: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 10 AM this morning.
According to the National Weather Service, light snowfall is possible in higher elevations of the mountains. Accumulations of 1 inch or more will be most likely 3,000 feet.
Total snow accumulations of one to two inches are possible, generally above 2500 feet. Localized amounts up to 3 inches will be possible across the highest elevations above 4000 feet. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph. However, winds will diminish through the day.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
Another strong system will affect the area Friday and Saturday. Another mountain wave event looks likely across the mountains and foothills as well as another round of wide spread rainfall.
Early next week, expect very cold temperatures to move into the region. Overnight lows are expected to drop into the teens and single digits by Tuesday morning, and into the single digits Tuesday night. Wind chill values will make it feel even colder. There is also a chance for accumulating snowfall on Tuesday.
