State Senator Steve Southerland and Representative David Hawk announce the winners of the Tennessee Arts Commission grant.
The Tennessee Arts Commission is the state arts agency whose mission is to cultivate the arts to benefit all Tennesseans and their communities.
Anne Pope, Executive Director for the Tennessee Arts Commission stated in a press release Tuesday that grants such as these are vital for keeping the culture of the arts and the businesses associated with them continue to grow in Tennessee.
The grants total $49,170 and have been distributed as follows:
George Clem Multicultural Alliance – $5,200
Niswonger Performing Arts Center – $37,970
Tusculum University – $6,000
Tennessee’s nonprofit arts and culture industry generates $1.4 billion in annual economic activity, according to the press release.
