A West Virginia man was arrested for drunkenness on Tuesday afternoon after he was reportedly seen in a ditch near the Greeneville Community Hospital property.
According to the report, Greeneville Police responded to the property around 2 PM to check on a male that was allegedly slumped over in a ditch. Officers made contact with the man identified as Chad Surgoine. The man seemed to be confused and was unsteady on his feet when he stood up. He told officers he thought he was in Alabama or Florida.
Officers believed Surgoine to be a danger to himself and the public. He was charged with public intoxication and was taken to the Greene County Detention Center.
