According to a press release this weekend, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a scene in the Jackson Island area where human remains were found by debris removal specialists. The remains are believed to be from a victim of the Hurricane Helene Flood.
The remains were taken to the medical examiner at the William Jenkins Forensics Center at ETSU. The release stated that this is an active investigation and more information will be released when available.
