Warrants were issued after a man was found passed out in his vehicle Saturday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 800 block of West Andrew Johnson Highway to check on a person said to be unconscious behind the steering wheel of his SUV.
Officers located the white Kia Soul near Aubrey’s Restaurant, and reported that the vehicle was running and still in drive with the man’s foot on the brake. When officers knocked on the window, the man woke up. He was later identified as Randy Pitt of Lake Street. According to the report, as Pitt was exiting the vehicle, several pills and an aluminum brick fell on the ground.
Pitt was asked to perform a standardized field sobriety test, but during the test, Pitt requested EMS due to being a diabetic. Pitt was transported to Greeneville Community Hospital East and his vehicle towed.
Pitt reportedly admitted to taking morphine approximately 6 hours earlier. A search of the vehicle yielded two additional aluminum bricks containing a gray-like substance, suspected to be heroine.
A total of 9 Xanax pills, 6 Morphine pills, and the three bricks of heroine were found during the search, along with 10 overdose kits.
Warrants were anticipated to be taken out on Pitt for Possession of Schedule I, II, and IV Drugs.
