A man wanted on multiple probation violations now faces an additional charge after briefly leading local authorities on a foot pursuit Thursday evening.
According to reports from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the incident began around 6:15. As deputies responded to a call regarding a separate offense at Oakland Park, the Greeneville Police Department was actively investigating a burglary in nearby Bolton Park.
During the burglary investigation, a Be On the Lookout was issued.
When deputies knocked on the door of the Oakland Park address, the suspect, identified as Christopher Thacker, bolted out the back door. He was ordered to stop, but thacker they say ignored the commands, looked back, and fled up the Kiser Boulevard access road.
During the foot pursuit, Thacker crossed the roadway before deputies caught up with him and took him into custody on Dellwood Circle without further incident.
Thacker was transported to the Greene County Detention Center where he was formally charged with evading arrest along with the violations of probation charges.
