The Walters State Art Department invites artists 18 and older who live or work in the college’s service area to submit works for consideration for a Regional Community Art Exhibition.
The exhibition is a juried, mixed-media art exhibition housed in the Catron Art Gallery, which is located inside the R. Jack Fishman Library on the Morristown Campus. The exhibit will celebrate and recognize artists from this region.
Original works of art in drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber or mixed media will be considered. Works must be no larger than 24″ x 36″ x 24″. An artist may submit two entries for consideration.
Submissions will be accepted on Saturday, Nov. 9, between 9 a.m.-noon in the Catron Art Gallery. All work must be ready to hang. Any unusual hardware magnets or specific hanging devices must be provided by the artist with installation instruction. Framed work must be wired on the back.
Jurying will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9. Artists with unaccepted work must pick up work by 4 p.m. on that date. Works chosen for the exhibit will remain on display in the Catron Art Gallery until the closing reception on March 27.
