A request for Post Conviction Relief for Vonda Star Smith has been turned down.
Following a hearing in late March, Judge John Dugger, Jr. this week denied the relief for the Greene County woman charged in the 2016 deaths of Jessie Morrison and her unborn child.
Smith is serving life in prison on the first degree murder conviction and a 25 year term to run concurrently in ther second degree murder conviction of the child.
