Another fraud attempt was successful last week in Greeneville. A woman from Sayler Road North reported electronic manipulation on Friday.
She spoke with the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and said she got a call from the Fraud Department claiming to be Eastman Credit Union. The victim spoke with a male. She said he knew all of her bank account information. The suspect instructed her to log into her bank account for further assistance.
According to the report, the suspect mirrored the victim’s phone and shortly after, the bank account was emptied. The total amount taken from the account was $1,355. Funds were reportedly used to make purchases on her eBay account. No suspects were known at the time of the report.
