A vehicle reported stolen last week from outside a convenience store was recovered this morning.
A Midway man reported Thursday he picked up two people and they drove to the Quick Stop Market in the 800 block of West Andrew Johnson Highway around 11:00 PM. The man went inside to get a pack of cigarettes, but when he returned back outside his vehicle was gone.
The store clerk witnessed a bald man jump out the back seat of the vehicle to the drivers seat. The man then fled the parking lot.
A Greeneville Police officer was on patrol this morning around 4:00 and saw the Ford Focus sitting partially in the roadway with its hazard lights on in the 500 block of Old Stage Road. The car was unoccupied. The officer tried contacting the number in the report, but no one answered. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
