There were only minor injuries reported when a Yukon turned into a Greene County Sheriff’s Department deputy responding to an emergency call.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said that Deputy Carson Becker was traveling southbound on the Asheville Highway near Mountain View Terrace with the cruiser’s emergency equipment activated around 5:30 PM Monday. Craig Lee Gorneault was also headed southbound and was in front of Becker. As Becker began to pass, Gorneault made a left turn into the side of the cruiser. Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway.
A K-9 dog in the cruiser was also uninjured.
Gorneault received minor injuries. Becker was uninjured. No charges were placed by the investigating trooper for the THP.
