Vandalism was reported at Dollar General in the 7000 block of Kingsport Highway on Monday afternoon.
An employee said the suspect came into the store around 5:00 PM swaying around and appeared intoxicated. He bumped into shelves and appeared to be talking to himself. The man then picked up various goods in the store and smashed them onto the floor, causing damage to around $100 worth of items.
The suspect then went to the counter and paid for a few other items. He left in a blue Nissan truck heading north on Kingsport Highway.
The store manager was advised by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on procedures for pressing charges against the suspect.
