The UPS store in Greeneville is warning citizens of a scam.
The store has received numerous reports this week of people getting text messages claiming to be from UPS. The messages are saying the recipient’s address UPS has on file is wrong and needs to be corrected for a fee of $1.29. Links are provided in the texts asking for correct address and banking information.
These texts are not legitimate. UPS will never send messages asking for address or banking information. If you receive one of these texts, ignore it, and do not go to any provided links or give out any personal information.
