The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency can help low-income families pay water bills through a Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program funded by COVID grant funds.
If the household qualifies, the program will apply a credit of $250 on their water utility account as long as they owe at least $10. Funding is also available for those who owe more.
The qualifying income guidelines range from $26,469 annually for a single-person household to a household of four earning as much as $50,902. Proof of income and other information is required.
For more information, call the Neighborhood Service Center at 423-246-6180. The program expires on September 30.
