A two year old boy was found safe in Knoxville last night, about three hours after an Amber Alert was issued.
Knoxville Police however are investigating whether the vehicle he was riding in was actually stolen or rolled away into a construction area not far from where it had been left on Old State Road.
Police say Elton Bailey was riding in the Ford Explorer driven by his grandfather. According to Police , the man left the vehicle running and the boy inside as he went inside a residence on Old State Road. When he came back outside, the vehicle was gone, presumed stolen.
After a large scale search was mobilized, Knox County Sheriff’s Department personnel found the vehicle in a muddy construction site on Pelham Park Road, not far from where it was last seen. The vehicle was still running and the little boy was found safe and unharmed inside.
