Two people were taken to the hospital on Saturday afternoon because of injuries during a crash on the 700 block of East McKee Street.
According to the Greeneville Police Department report, the driver of vehicle one Brandon R. Humphreys was driving at around 5 PM when he crossed the yellow line and struck EMS ambulance. The EMS unit was transporting a patient to the hospital at the time of the accident.
Both people in vehicle two reportedly had injuries and were taken by EMS to the Greeneville Community Hospital East. The patient was transported to the helipad and flown to Johnson City Medical Center.
Humphreys admitted to officers he looked down at his phone before the incident, according to the report. He allegedly refused to be transported to the hospital and said he would go later. He was issued a citation for driving left of center and both vehicles were towed.
