Two Maryland residents were injured in a single-vehicle accident in Greene County on Saturday.
A Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Interstate 81 around mile marker 32 in the left lane when the driver, 60-year-old Irma Ebelin Mendoza, drifted off the roadway to the left. Mendoza then overcorrected to the right and lost control of the vehicle. The truck ran off the roadway to the left and overturned multiple times.
Mendoza and a passenger, 58-year-old Fausto Quintero Soltelo, were injured in the accident. The accident report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol listed four other occupants of the truck, ages 12, 13, 16 and 23, but did not provide information regarding possible injuries.
