Two Greeneville men are facing several charges after fleeing from police during a traffic stop on Friday night.

The vehicle driven by Johnathon Davis of Chapel Street was reportedly traveling in a reckless manner and failed to stop for lights and sirens. The car finally stopped on South Highland Street after striking a fire hydrant. Davis bailed on foot and was then apprehended with the assistance of a K-9 officer.

A passenger in the vehicle, Ethan Stetson of Whitehouse Road, tried to continue evading by attempting to get the vehicle unstuck from the hydrant. Before he was able to do so, Stetson was removed from the vehicle and handcuffed. A small amount of marijuana was located in Stetson’s pocket. A search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia, a container with meth inside, brass knuckles, and a large amount of counterfeit money.

Davis and Stetson were both charged with the manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule 6 drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal simulation, and evading arrest. Davis was additionally charged with driving on a revoked license first offense and Stetson was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
