Two people were found passed out in a vehicle on East Vann Road yesterday night.
Several calls were made regarding a vehicle that was stopped the a red light on East Vann Road near the Asheville Highway around 11 PM. Two people were located inside still passed out. They were later identified as Mathew Martin and Autumn Wills, both of Greeneville. According to the report from the Greeneville Police Department, multiple attempts were made to wake up the driver Martin. Once Martin woke up, he was asked to exit the vehicle. At that time the passenger, Wills, exited the vehicle and was told to get back in.
Martin had an odor of alcohol coming from his breath and was found to have 4 warrants on file from Greene County. During an attempt to detain Martin, Wills allegedly was getting upset due to a Lieutenant shining a flashlight in her face. She began yelling and exited the car again. Due to her also smelling like alcohol and not complying, the Lieutenant went to detain her and she got back into the vehicle and wrapped her arms around the seat. An attempt was made to get her out but she started kicking. After assistance from another officer, she was detained. She was issued a summons for resisting stop frisk halt.
Martin was charged with a DUI second offense, driving on revoked license 1st offense, and financial responsibility. He was served with violation of parole x2 and two warrants.
