Two people died at the scene of a house fire on Cedar Crest Road in Greene County on Monday evening.
A news release from Greene County Sheriff Wesley Holt around 10 am today reports first responders were called to the fire at a residence on Cedar Crest Road at around 11:20 pm.
Arriving responders were notified there could still be people inside the residence. Firefighters made entry into the home and discovered two persons deceased inside.
Names of those involved have not been released as the bodies have been taken to the William L Jenkins Forensic Center at ETSU for autopsy and formal identification.
First responders included Mosheim, Midway, Town of Mosheim, and Debusk Fire Departments. Greene County EMS also responded to the scene.
The Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Fire Investigation Units along with the Fire Investigation Division from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation responded to the scene.
The investigation the report says, is continuing.
