Two people were arrested late Thursday night after leading deputies on a chase following an investigation into a stolen vehicle.
Deputies went to a property in the 800 block of Rambo Road around 9:45 Thursday night after receiving a report of a possible stolen truck out of Washington County. During the investigation, a man got into a van and reversed recklessly at a high rate of speed, running through dog fences, small trees and other debris.
The suspect, later identified as 40-year-old Michael McCraw of Wilson County, drove at a patrol car occupied by a deputy and struck the vehicle, damaging the headlight and fender area.
McCraw drove onto Rambo Road and then Bishop Loop, where he lost control in a curve and struck multiple mailboxes before overturning the van. McCraw and a passenger, 26-year-old Brooke Frank of Carters Valley Road, crawled out of the vehicle and were placed into custody.
During a search, officers found narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Frank was also served a warrant for failure to appear, while McCraw was charged with assault on an officer, felony reckless endangerment, felony evading arrest, driving on a suspended license and two violations of probation.
